Louis Mosar

I am a doctoral researcher in social and political philosophy at KU Leuven. Currently, I am completing my doctoral dissertation entitled The Despotism of Anarchy: A Neo-Republican Analysis and Critique of Impersonal Market Governance. In it, I examine how markets govern the cooperative work of providing for our needs, and I develop a neo-republican analysis of how this way of governing our economic cooperation affects our freedom. I am more broadly interested in the normative analysis of economic institutions, (neo-)republican political theory and theories of freedom.
My work has appeared in academic journals such as the Journal of Economic Issues, Contemporary Political Theory and Political Science Quarterly. I have also published in outlets for a wider audience such De Morgen, Jacobin Nederland and Knack. You can find links to all my publications on the 'Output' page.
